Behind The Brand...Why Auras?
Aura Bloom Polish is based around all the aura colors. Auras are dynamic and ever-changing, so just like a flower they can bloom and change into a variety of colors. Since our auras change over time, we can also influence the change of our aura color, such as surrounding ourselves with that color to manifest it. As our motto says, "Auras are a rainbow of colors and so are our polishes" so choose whatever color, or aura, suits you or brings a smile to your face.
I try to take the meaning of the aura color, what it represents, and have the name relate to that as often as possible. For example, the pink aura represents love, romantic, kindness, caring, and generosity. So one of the pink colors is named "Stop, You're Making Me Blush" to coincide with the actual meaning of that aura color. This isn't always possible with collections, but I try to as much as possible.
Auras aside, there's also psychology based studies about colors and how they influence our moods and behaviors. The aura interpretations pretty much line up with the psychological meanings. I have a degree in Social Work (intended to become a LCSW/therapist) so I have huge love for psychology as well as things like karma, fate, destiny, and auras. This passion and interest is what made me center my brand around colors and the influence they have on us, and thus Aura Bloom Polish was born.
About The Polish
All our polishes are 10-free, vegan, and cruelty free.
We strongly believe and support equality, diversity, inclusiveness, and we are a LGBTQIA+ ally. EVERYONE is equal and deserves equal rights and treatment. People are people, nothing makes anyone more worthy of human rights than another. Inequality, bigotry, racism, sexism, and all the other "isms" are ugly. Corporate greed is also ugly.
In addition to supporting equality and human rights, we have a huge interest and support for Domestic Violence Awareness, as I am a DV survivor myself.
I will be doing periodic charity polishes and will post receipts after every donation is made because transparency is very important to us.
About The Maker
My name is Laura Solis, I'm located in the Kansas City, MO metro area. I've had a passion for nail polish most my life and always loved anything artistic. Nail polish is a small joy in life, just looking at it on my fingers brightens my day.
My polish obsession started in the mid 90's when I was a teenager with stoplight red hair, JNCO jeans, my NIN shirt, and money burning a hole in my pocket. Finding cool colors of polish back then was not an easy feat. We had to scour the stores at the mall for those impulse buy displays where they'd only stock a handful or so of "weird" colors. I can remember making the usual rounds looking for new colors or ones I didn't have.
As I had kids and worked in a professional setting I lost touch with nail polish in my life. Those beloved colors were now NSFW and rarely used.
During Covid I was able to work remote and it reignited my love of nail polish. Since then I ditched the office lifestyle to a fully remote job. I took up my love of nail polish again and discovered the (new to me) world of indie nail polish. This is the world of polish I desired, and needed, so badly as a teen.
Outside of work I've always been very artsy and creative and desired to have my own business that combines my love for something and my artistic creativity. I used to make jewelry and had a side business for that when my kids were little, so I felt this was my calling to start something I can focus on and grow now that they are adults.
I began researching and testing, lots and lots, of testing and launched the brand on 1/2/25. Since I was a nail polish fanatic (and a little OCD) I wanted to make it just the way I love my nail polish and shopping experience to be. I incorporate a lot of my likes and dislikes in every aspect if the business, from the website, customer service, and products. I read comments and posts about likes and dislikes in the community and they align a lot with my own so I hope it is an enjoyable experience for everyone else too.
